Pick options Picks can be "straight up" (try to pick the game winner) or "against the spread" (try to pick the winner based on the betting line favorite & spread). You can also include the "Over/Under" as an additional pick. Your pool can be a simple "most correct picks" wins the pool. Alternatively, you can make the pool more interesting by using "points" where the person who scores the most points wins the pool.
Scoring Options Traditional pools do not use points to determine the winner. Whoever picks the most correct games wins the pool. Sportsfan.com pools provide the option for running pools with points (you can stick with the traditional format if you prefer).
|
|
- No points Run a traditional pool. Whoever makes the most correct picks wins.
- "Confidence" points scoring Each person sets a value from 1-32 for each game. If you don't want to use 1-32 as the confidence values, you can set your own.
- "Value" points scoring The commissioner sets a value for each game. Values can differ depending on whether the winning team is the favorite or underdog. For over/under picks, values can differ depending on whether or not the correct game pick was also made.
- Team score points Each player gets the number of points scored by the team they pick. Can be set so that points are awarded only for correct pick.
- Team scoring differential points Each player gets the number of points scored by the team they pick minus the number of points scored by the other team. Can be set so that points are awarded ony for correct pick.
- Spread differential points Each player gets points (or loses points) based on which team was picked and comparing the game score differential to the pointspread.
- Game prediction points Each player enters a total game score prediction for each game. The commissioner sets a formula that determines how many points are earned by comparing the predicted score to the actual score.
- Combined methods You can combine one or more of the scoring methods.

Pool Standings (No Points)
As the bowl season progresses, the pool standings are updated automatically. The standings shows each player's win/loss record, optional tie-breaker pick, and their bowl picks. Correct picks are highlighted in green and incorrect picks in red. |

Pool Standings (Points)
If your pool uses "points" (confidence points, game value points, game score points, game score differential points, score differential points, or game prediction points), each player's points are also shown on the standings. Pools using "Confidence" or "Value" points also will have a column showing the maximum possible score. |

Pool Picksheet
Filling out the online pick sheet is as easy as point and click. For each game, players mark their pick. The picks can be changed until the deadline passes. The commissioner sets the pick sheet deadline and can limit the number of entries submitted per person. This screenshot shows a pick sheet in a pool using "confidence" points, although your pool may not use points or may use a different point method (see scoring options above). The website formats the picksheet automatically based on the rules you are using for your pool. |
